New toons: Freedom, Gay Divorce, Skinny Jeans
Or: I'm not dead, just insanely busy

Apologies to anyone who may have tried to contact me lately, but I'm a bit on the crazy insane busy side. Especially since I'm now drawing 2-3 toons per week. Here are the latest: Fashion editors and the Gap would like everyone to toss your trousers and buy lots of "skinny jeans". Don't believe the hype--this is a trend that only works for certain people. Me, I'll stick to jeans that don't make me look like a tightly-wrapped denim carrot. Did you know? Freedom can be spread on toast! I predict gay marriage will drive this couple to divorce.

Men's and women's C.W.A. T-shirts

Back of C.W.A. T-shirt

Check out the awesome shirts the Cartoonists With Attitude collective will be sporting at SPX, as worn by Masheka Wood and Mikhaela Reid (i.e. me). They come in both standard men's Hanes Beefy-T style and women's baby-doll ribbed Bella T style. If we have any leftovers after SPX, I'll be offering them for sale through the C.W.A. website.

P.S. T-shirt idea by Matt Bors, C.W.A. logo by Brian McFadden, T-shirt design and art by Mikhaela Reid, and awesome screen-printing job by Brunetto.

Please help save The New Standard!
Keep independent media alive!

The New Standard is awesome, plain and simple. It's far and away my absolute FAVORITE source for progressive news via their handy daily emails. The site features original top-notch journalism and links to stories of interest from around the world, as well as cartoons by folks like Stephanie McMillan, Matt Bors, David Rees, Keith Knight and yours truly.

The New Standard is also flat broke. Without $3,000 more in monthly donations, they'll have to shut down in 11 days. Even as little as $2/month can help keep independent media alive.

Mikhaela now in NYC's The Villager newspaper!

Good news folks: I finally have a local weekly paper to draw NYC-centric toons for, at least for the time being--The Villager (not to be confused with the Village Voice). The gig is of indeterminate length, so if you dig my cartoons, please please PLEASE let the editors know (lincoln@downtownexpress.com). Here's the first one, from last week (you can also see at their site): And in a fit of annoyance, I also drew a cartoon about that ridiculous ABC mini-series:

New Cartoon: How Much do YOU Love Fascism?
Or: man do I ever hate Condi and Rummy

Yes, it's true--if you don't unequivocally support Bush's oil war, you're a Nazi-loving Al Qaeda butt-kissing slavery-supporting fascist totalitarian commie!

I'm referring, of course, to Donald Rumsfeld's now infamous speech to the American Legion, in which he compared administration critics to Nazi appeasers (see excellent video rebuttal by Keith Olberman). More recently, in an interview with Essence, Condi Rice compared us to slavery apologists:

I'm sure there are people who thought it was a mistake to fight the Civil War to its end and to insist that the emancipation of slaves would hold...
and
I know there were people who said, 'Why don't we get out of this now, take a peace with the South, but leave the South with slaves?'

My Pre-Pregnancy Cartoon in the Guardian!

As in London's famed Guardian newspaper. They ran "What to Expect When You're Pre-Expecting" in the print edition to accompany this terrifying article, The pregnancy police are watching you".
