Stand up against workplace discrimination!
I touched on this issue in a recent Lambda Legal cartoon as well. We need a national employment non-discrimination act for lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender people, and we need it YESTERDAY. It may be 2007, but millions of Americans can still be fired without recourse for being gay or trans, and it happens every day in much less high-profile cases.
Update: Yet more on the case from the Blend.

I think Stanton's got a heck of a lawsuit - check out the law on my blog http://jweissdiary.blogspot.com And in a society with separation of church and state, why is what Jesus would say any more relevant than what Buddha or Ahura Mazda would say?
Thanks for the great information! I HAD heard that there had been some cases where transgender people who had been fired in places where gender identity was not protected had been able to argue it was gender discrimination. I really hope Stanton can make a case out of this. And I REALLY hope we get a real solid national ENDA law, it's so disgusting that this kind of discrimination is still legal in 2007.
And your blog post also cleared up why most of even the LGBT media are still saying "Steve" and "Mr. Stanton"--I was somewhat confused by that, but if it's Stanton's preference for now, that makes more sense.
